Indication

PM first cleanse for makeup, sunscreen, and surface impurity removal — without disrupting the acid mantle. Indicated as Step 1 PM in the pH Balance Protocol, also as the universal PM first step for any patient on Hydration, Pigmentation, or Acne protocols who wears makeup or sunscreen. Eye-safe, alcohol-free.

Mechanism of Action

A micelle-based cleansing system that removes makeup, sebum, and pollutants without water or mechanical rubbing — leaving the acid mantle intact and skin within the clinically optimal pH 4.5–5.5 window.

High-Quality Micelles — lipophilic cores bind oil-based residues (makeup, sebum, sunscreen) on cotton-pad contact. Non-ionic chemistry preserves acid mantle. Drives clean score improvement from 0.47 → 3.23 and 91.5% makeup removal.

Niacinamide — purifies pores, balances oil. Inhibits melanosome transfer, supports barrier ceramide synthesis.

Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) — polysaccharide-rich mucilage provides immediate anti-inflammatory action during cleansing. Critical for sensitive and post-procedure skin.

pH 5.18 post-use — most micellar waters leave skin at pH 6.5–7.5. This product brings skin to 5.18 so downstream actives work at optimal efficacy.

Dosage & Administration

Use in evening only as the first cleanse — before the Skin Balance Gentle Cleanser. Not required AM when makeup is not present.
Saturate cotton pad. Hold over closed eye for 10 seconds to loosen waterproof mascara, then wipe gently outward.
Use a fresh pad for the face. Sweep in upward motions across cheeks, forehead, nose, chin until no colour transfers.
No rinsing required. Proceed directly to Skin Balance Gentle Cleanser.

Frequency

PM First Cleanse · As needed. Use every evening when wearing makeup or sunscreen. On days without heavy product to remove, the Gentle Cleanser alone is sufficient.

Cross-Protocol Use

Universal PM first step across all SkinQ Rx protocols. Patients on Hydration, Pigmentation, or Acne Protocol who wear makeup or sunscreen should use this as their PM first cleanse before their protocol's primary cleanser.
