Mandatory in every protocol

Photo Defense is the only SkinQ Rx product prescribed across all five ranges. Photodamage is a compounding factor in every skin concern — and unprotected skin undoes the work of every active below it.

Mechanism of Action

A hybrid UV filter system — combining chemical and mineral filters for complete broad-spectrum coverage, boosted by antioxidants for photo-oxidative protection.

Tinosorb M + Tinosorb S — primary photostable broad-spectrum filters. Absorb UVB + UVA without generating free radicals. Prevent photodegradation of other actives in the formulation.
Zinc Oxide + Titanium Dioxide — mineral physical blockers. Sit on skin surface, reflect UV. Micronised to eliminate white cast on Fitzpatrick III–VI Indian skin.
Uvinal A Plus + Uvinal T 150 — targeted organic filters for UVA-I (deepest, photoaging) and UVB (high SPF contribution).
Vitamin C + Vitamin E — synergistic antioxidant pair. Vitamin E regenerates Vitamin C after oxidation, extending antioxidant activity beyond what SPF alone provides. Allantoin reduces post-UV inflammation, ensuring sensitive/post-procedure skin compatibility.
Dosage & Administration
  1. Complete AM routine — cleanser, serum, moisturiser if prescribed.
  2. Apply Photo Defense as the final step before stepping outdoors or exposure to screens.
  3. Use ¼ teaspoon (approx. 1.5ml) for the face — do not under-apply, SPF scales with quantity.
  4. Spread evenly over face, neck, and exposed areas — blend outward, do not rub vigorously.
  5. Reapply every 2–3 hours when outdoors or under direct light.
Frequency

Every Morning · Non-Negotiable. Apply daily regardless of weather or indoor activity. UV penetrates glass — window exposure is sufficient for cumulative photodamage. Reapply 2–3 hourly outdoors.

Protocol Position

Mandatory in all 5 protocols (see "Mandatory in Every Protocol" section above). The only SkinQ Rx product prescribed across every range — photodamage is a compounding factor in every skin concern.

Post-Procedure Use

Mandatory after all laser, peel, and microneedling procedures. Compromised skin barrier has zero UV defence — omitting SPF post-procedure is clinically contraindicated. Particularly critical for Fitzpatrick IV–VI patients where unprotected post-procedure UV exposure causes direct PIH rebound.

Skin Type Suitability

Gel texture designed for Indian climate — non-greasy, non-comedogenic, safe for oily, acne-prone, and post-procedure skin. Validated zero white cast on Fitzpatrick III–VI Indian skin tones.
