Lactic Acid — gentler complementary AHA, particularly safe for darker Fitzpatrick types. pH-buffered to clinic-safe levels. Contributes to 28.5% smoothness improvement.

Vitamin C — applied at peak skin permeability post-AHA. Direct tyrosinase inhibition + free radical neutralisation. Drives 3.1% tone improvement and 68.75% pigmentation reduction.

Niacinamide (99.4%) — final soothing step. Blocks melanosome transfer in freshly treated skin. Critical for darker Fitzpatrick types to prevent PIH rebound that would negate de-tanning correction.
