Clinical Application

How clinics use this kit

Two validated use cases — as pre-procedure preparation before energy-based or chemical treatments, or as a standalone brightening facial. Discuss with your SkinQ Rx representative to determine optimal protocol fit for your clinic workflow.

Pre-Procedure Brightening Prep
Applied 1–2 sessions before chemical peels, fractional laser, Q-switched Nd:YAG, or IPL to pre-condition skin and reduce the melanin load prior to energy delivery
1
Cleanse and tone — use the included prep solution to remove surface impurities, sebum, and residual sunscreen. Ensures clean contact surface for actives
2
Apply AHA-brightening treatment — multi-acid exfoliation layer applied to skin for the specified contact time. Breaks down surface melanin and preps the stratum corneum for subsequent energy penetration
3
Brightening mask application — concentrated Vitamin C + Niacinamide formulation applied to suppress melanin synthesis in freshly exfoliated skin. Amplifies the de-tanning effect measured in the CCT study
4
Soothing + barrier seal — calming finish applied post-procedure to restore barrier before the patient departs. Reduces erythema risk and sets up optimal home care starting conditions
Standalone Brightening Facial
Complete de-tanning and pigmentation correction session that can be offered as a clinic-dispensed facial treatment or as an add-on to an existing in-clinic menu
1
Skin assessment and prep — evaluate Fitzpatrick type, active lesions, and contraindications. Apply prep solution; discuss home care protocol to reinforce the in-clinic result
2
Multi-acid exfoliation — timed acid application to accelerate cell turnover in the pigmented skin layers. Removal of surface hyperpigmented cells visible to patient post-rinse — establishes immediate result expectation
3
Intensive brightening mask — high-dose brightening actives applied under controlled conditions to deliver the 93.75% visible de-tan result confirmed in the CCT study. Contact time is practitioner-controlled
4
Post-treatment SPF counselling — mandatory. Prescribe the home care Pigmentation Protocol (C15+Ferulic AM + AHA Serum PM) to maintain and extend in-clinic correction. Reinforce daily SPF as non-negotiable

Indication

Visible tan, hyperpigmentation, melasma on Indian/wheatish skin (Fitzpatrick III–VI). Two clinical use cases: (1) pre-procedure brightening prep — applied 1–2 sessions before chemical peels, fractional laser, Q-switched Nd:YAG, or IPL to pre-condition skin and reduce melanin load; (2) standalone intensive de-tanning facial. CCT Laboratories validated for 93.75% visible de-tan in dermatologist-graded panel.

Mechanism of Action

Professional-grade brightening actives at concentrations above home care — calibrated for clinician-supervised application with appropriate contact time control. Multi-step kit: exfoliation → correction → barrier recovery.

Glycolic Acid — primary driver of 93.75% visible de-tan. Faster, deeper exfoliation under controlled clinical conditions. Creates maximum skin permeability for subsequent brightening actives.
Lactic Acid — gentler complementary AHA, particularly safe for darker Fitzpatrick types. pH-buffered to clinic-safe levels. Contributes to 28.5% smoothness improvement.
Vitamin C — applied at peak skin permeability post-AHA. Direct tyrosinase inhibition + free radical neutralisation. Drives 3.1% tone improvement and 68.75% pigmentation reduction.
Niacinamide (99.4%) — final soothing step. Blocks melanosome transfer in freshly treated skin. Critical for darker Fitzpatrick types to prevent PIH rebound that would negate de-tanning correction.
Application

Multi-step in-clinic protocol — full sequence detailed in the Clinical Application section above. Two validated use cases: pre-procedure brightening prep (1–2 sessions before peel/laser) or standalone intensive de-tanning facial. Always followed by post-treatment SPF and barrier care prescription.

Treatment Schedule

As pre-procedure prep: 1–2 sessions in the 1–2 weeks before planned peel/laser. As standalone treatment: 4–6 sessions at 2–3 week intervals for visible cumulative correction. Discuss optimal cadence with SkinQ Rx representative.

Pair With Home Care

Always prescribe Pigmentation Protocol home care alongside in-clinic kit: C15+Ferulic Serum (AM), Derma Bright AHA Serum (PM), Derma Bright Mask (2× weekly), and mandatory Photo Defense SPF50+ AM. The clinic kit amplifies; home care sustains.
